Lisa Garneau Doyle

Vintage Vortex Founder

Lisa Garneau Doyle hails from New Hampshire where she found her passion for vintage textiles and clothing at an early age in the 1960s while scouring Sunday flea markets with her family. She enjoyed being around fabric, interesting textiles, and sewing notions for most of her life as her mother was a stay at home seamstress.

She started collecting vintage clothing and antiques as a teen and learned the trade of resale while living abroad for 6 1/2 years in Indonesia. She created a business with friend and business partner Lisa Lanier Allen called Aprons Plus and then branched off to include The Costume Closet. Upon returning to the USA, Lisa started selling her collection at multiple booths in Savannah's local antique malls. In 2014 she and business partner Indre Palencia launched the beginnings of what is now - 10 years later - The Vintage Vortex.

Starting out as Gypsy Girl Vintage, named after her beloved yellow lab and store dog. After 8 months, Lisa moved and expanded her business from Desoto Street to Bull Street remaining in the up and coming Starland District, also while renaming the store to Gypsy World Savannah.

5 years later, during the pandemic, she had the opportunity once again to expand her growing business to double the size just down the block, and once again rebranded to The Vintage Vortex. Still going strong, this vintage clothing business is known all over the country as "one of the BEST and most well-curated vintage stores in the country." The Vintage Vortex is an experience, not just a clothing boutique. It is your portal to Vintage Bliss.
